Bloom's Reviews/ Comprehensive Research & Study Guides: George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four
Published in Paperback by Chelsea House Publishing (December, 1998)
Average review score:

Spectacular!Written to be a comment on what happens when socialist dictators take over it extends well beyond. It touched upon what it means to be a person, the rights all should have and a graphic depiction on what it takes for a man to give up his principles. A grand, grand, grand book. One of the best written in a good time.

The Boxer Handbook (Barron's Pet Handbooks)
Published in Paperback by Barrons Educational Series (15 March, 2000)
Average review score:

An Award Winner? This book was recently nominated for a Maxwell Award by the Dog Writers Association of America for best pet book. Whether it wins the ultimate award or not, as a Boxer enthusiast, I found it to be a great guide for both new and experienced owners. The book covers all aspects of Boxer care (it has up-to-date health information, too) and is specific to the Boxer--there are no generic chapters. The book also gives a very candid look at the breed's pros and cons. For those interested in adopting an adult dog, there's even a detailed chapter on the rescued Boxer and what it takes to rehome one of these terrific dogs. The color photos are great and really round out the book well.

Budgerigars: Everything About Purchase, Care, Nutrition, Behavior, and Training (Barron's Complete Pet Owner's Manuals)
Published in Paperback by Barrons Educational Series (August, 1998)
Average review score:

The Best Book for Budgerigars!!When I went to Singapore for vacation, I got this book about
budgerigars. I have a blue budgerigar (parakeet) and I just got her
recently. I didn't know much about birds, so when I read this book
I could find out all sorts of things about budgerigars. This book
tells about budgerigars' home, how to train them, their enviroment,
what kind of food and cage they should have, and how to take care of
your budgerigar so that he/she would be happy.
At the back of the page, it tells some interesting facts about
budgerigars. One of them is:
Budgerigar means good bird, or good food. They come from Australia,
and the native people eat budgerigars.
There is also a list of most of the budgerigar books and magazines at
the back. You should get this book because it's really good if you
want to have a healthy and happy bird!!!

Business Statistics (Barron's Business Review Series)
Published in Paperback by Barrons Educational Series (December, 1985)
Average review score:

Great Introduction to Statistics for MBA'sI read this book just before starting an MBA course called "Basic Statistics". I found the book to be clear, intuitive and it certainly covered all topics we discussed in class. In my opinion, this book presents an easy way to understand Statistics by applying them to real business situations. I still use it as reference at work. Highly recommendable for business people interested in Statistics and with no much background in Math (just make sure you know how to add)

Catcher in the Rye (Barron's Book Notes)
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (October, 1999)
Average review score:

EngrossingWhile wondering around the library one day, I saw this book and figured I might as well read it because it was a "classic." I am sooo glad I did. This book was wonderful. The plot was complex up until the last. The characters were very well developed. I couldn't put this one down. Just a warning though, this book has a quite a bit of bad language in it, but the story is still absolutly magnificent. A "must read"

Charles Dicken's Great Expectations
Published in Paperback by Hungry Minds, Inc (March, 1987)
Average review score:

Love Found!!!"Great Expectation" is a worldly renowned book written by Charles Dickens. The story takes place during the nineteenth century. Pip, an ordinary yet unexpected boy, is the main character of this distinguished book. Pip lived in a relatively poor family that consisted his older sister and his sister-in-law, Joe, a friendly blacksmith. Although his life was usual and common, Pip was a happy boy who showed enthusiasm to life and great respects to others. However, his personality changed significantly ever since he met Estella, a charming yet icy girl. To Pip, his beloved Estella was like a heaven, he would give up everything just to please her. He realized that in order for Estella to love or even take notice of him, it was compulsory for him to upgrade to the upper class. In reaching his great expectation, which was to satisfy Estella, Pip chose to neglect those who concerned him and deliberately went off to London to learn to be a real "gentleman." In the process of his learning, he gained valuable experiences on the perspectives of live and the definition of love. He has never thought of that this beloved darling; Estella was simply a trap or a revenge of an old lady, Miss. Havisham. This great book is filled with lots of exciting and unforgettable climax and plots. If you want to experience it yourself, I would highly recommend you go grab a "Great Expectation" as soon as possible!

Cliffs Quick Review Anatomy and Physiology
Published in Paperback by Cliffs Notes (August, 1997)
Average review score:

Excellent summary of human anatomy and physiology.Phillip Pack's "Anatomy and Physiology" is a comprehensive and well-organized summary of the subject of human anatomy and physiology. It should be very useful for students seeking a brief overview of the subject, as well for instructors who do not wish for their lectures to be tied down to a particular textbook.

CliffsComplete Hamlet
Published in Digital by Hungry Minds ()
Average review score:

Absolutely Essential ReadingThis book is the essential resource for anyone who wants to understand Hamlet. I eagerly recommend it to students from 8th grade to master's level, and to anyone who plans to teach this play. This text contains the complete original play, expert commentary, and very useful additional resources. Dr. Mategrano has done a thorough job of explaining the play, providing historical, theatrical, social, and religious background information. Explanations are provided to such crucial questions as why Hamlet, the dead king's only son, did not automatically become the reigning monarch. I found the section on the status of women to be especially insightful into the behavior of Gertrude and Ophelia. Anyone who teaches, studies or attends a performance of Hamlet will benefit greatly from having read this text.
